Outside Nature Program
Children will be immersed learning outside every day. They will spend 90% of their day learning and playing outside.
Small Groups
During small groups children will rotate between 2 teachers who are able to focus on each area such as pre-writing, pre-reading, sensory/science, and math.
Teaching Methods
Emphasis placed on learning through play and sensory activities as well as life skills. Children will have responsibilities within the classroom and among their peers. Focus on relationships with others. Academics will be woven in through the children's interest.
Art, Cooking, Library, Garden, and more!
Children will still have all of these wonderful extras built into their weekly schedule. The love to maintain the garden and use those items for cooking. Art is always readily available for them, but they also have intentional art time too.
Learning Objectives
All of our curriculums go above and beyond the Texas TEKs found int he public school systems. Our children hit all the learning objectives and we assist where assistance is needed. Our children are going to both public and private school programs in the area.
Curriculums
Our children will be using a loose version of Handwriting without Tears for our handwriting program in PreK. they continue that program in Kindergarten as well. For phonics our children will be using Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum for both PreK and Kindergarten. For 1st and 2nd grade, we utilize the All About Reading program. For math we utilize Dimensions Math in 1st and 2nd grade. We also introduce cursive in our Kindergarten program. They will also be completing science and social studies as well.
